Peopleplus (CEO Lee Sang-jin) is a packaging material development company established in 2017 that researches the material and structure of packaging materials and provides solutions to problems. Peopleplus is working to reduce the cost and weight of packaging materials and to localize packaging materials that are currently dependent on imports.
Recently, due to the climate crisis, there has been a heated social debate on disposable waste. The Ministry of Environment is implementing various policies to reduce waste recycling and use of disposable packaging materials in order to respond to the increase in waste. Peopleplus is securing and commercializing packaging technology that can reduce waste so that discarded packaging materials can be recycled and used. In addition, it is developing technology that increases the ease of recycling of packaging waste and is working on commercializing it.
In addition, Peopleplus is developing and providing a recycling contribution management system so that producers can easily implement the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system implemented by the Ministry of Environment. Through this, companies subject to recycling obligations can accurately understand and manage product packaging material structure information, while also providing guidance on improvement measures.

Peopleplus, which supports ESG activities of manufacturing companies such as PCR packaging development and sustainable packaging material production, will provide business agency services to support the producer responsibility recycling system (EPR), which is an obligation of manufacturing companies.
Peopleplus announced that it plans to provide various conveniences, such as supporting an environment where companies can focus on production activities and reducing environmental burden fees through EPR business agency.
EPR is a system in which companies are responsible for their environmental obligations from product production to recycling, and report the weight of waste to the Environmental Corporation every year based on production and sales volume, and are charged environmental fees accordingly.
Many production companies are having difficulty performing EPR work as the simple method of directly receiving the weight of waste to the existing environmental corporation has been changed to a complex method of self-evaluation, receipt of results, and application for contribution through the environmental corporation's new computer system since 2020.
In the case of the EPR business agency service, Peopleplus proceeds in the following order: building a packaging material database by product, categorizing packaging materials by type, preparing supporting documents by packaging material type, self-assessment of the ease of recycling by packaging material type, requesting evaluation of self-assessment results, receiving the request for evaluation of self-assessment results, entering the packaging material evaluation results by product, and applying for recycling contribution.
A Peopleplus official said, “We will provide more convenience through EPR agency work so that manufacturers can focus more on product production.”

Peopleplus announced that it has developed packaging materials using PCR materials recycled from waste discarded after consumer use.
An official said, "The PCR PE single-material packaging material developed by Peopleplus can be used for products that require low-temperature impact resistance, such as frozen chestnuts and ice packs, and has even acquired GRS certification, an international eco-friendly certification."
In doing so, “Peopleplus plans to continuously develop PCR packaging materials and expand the scope of application to include cushioning packaging materials,” and explained, “Through the use of PCR packaging materials, we can expect to see effects such as waste reduction, reduced petroleum resource usage, and ease of recycling. In addition, we can reduce carbon by 40% compared to general plastic production.”
He continued, “This is expected to help support ESG activities of manufacturing companies, such as the Ministry of Environment’s 2050 carbon neutral policy and producer responsibility recycling system, and reduce environmental burdens.” He added, “We will continue to make all-out efforts to develop PCR packaging to support the environment and our customers’ ESG activities.”
